Belgie

  Omdat ik het niet beter zelf kan zeggen, neem ik het gewoon over van de website. Als je er hetzelfde over denkt, teken dan zeker de petitie.

Al werkend en wonend in het buitenland voel ik me zelfs nog meer Belg. Belg eerst, dan Limburger en dan Riemstenaar. Vlaming komt eerlijk gezegd nog niet eens bij me op. Ik heb absoluut geen affiniteit met Vlaming zijn en ik ken wel de Brabanconne en niet De vlaamsche leeuw. Ik heb dan ook zeer weinig begrip voor mensen die een splitsing propageren.

En zo omschrijven ze het op de online petitie: "Alles wat we vandaag in België hebben, is door Vlamingen, Brusselaars en Walen gezamenlijk tot stand gebracht. De solidariteit tussen de rijkere en armere inwoners en de solidariteit tussen rijkere en armere regio's zijn pijlers van onze Belgische samenleving.

We willen voor iedereen een behoorlijk loon voor hetzelfde werk, ongeacht de taal die we spreken. We willen dat alle landgenoten hetzelfde recht hebben op gezonde, veilige leef- en arbeidsomstandigheden; waar onze werkplaats of ons kantoor ook gevestigd is. We willen dat iedereen die zijn job verliest, recht heeft op dezelfde bijstand en hulp, ongeacht de streek waarin we wonen. We willen dat elk kind in het land dezelfde kansen krijgt, ongeacht de regio waarin het is geboren. We willen dat alle ouderen hetzelfde recht op een fatsoenlijk pensioen krijgen, ongeacht of ze in Brussel, Vlaanderen of Wallonië leven. Kortom, we willen solidariteit en geen splitsing."

Sick

My head is spinning, my temperature is almost 2 degrees up, I feel sick to my stomach and I'm dead tired. Hate feeling like this...
Today I'm working with my laptop on my knees on the couch with 2 blankets wrapped around me and a bottle of Advil on the coffee table.

And we're back in New York. Anyone who says traveling by plane is fun, is clearly an idiot... (unless you are the pilot, I guess)
I wonder why I ever decided to fly British Airways always from London to New York. I really, really do not like them. I can live with the hour delay, if you could bloody well tell me why there is a delay in the first place and not let us sit and wait there wondering if we are even at the correct gate (Maybe use the screens at the gate next time to say which flight is leaving from there???). And "problems with staff" does not count as a decent explanation of why the plane is not there yet. Especially not when you are flying on September 11th.
And the food is sooooo disgusting! I know I'm not the best person to judge food as I hardly eat anything normal people eat, but I can judge quality. And BA is without a doubt the most disgusting food I have ever had on a plane. I even prefer American Airlines... at least they give you a slice of pizza...
The "entertainment system" on board is completely outdated, half the audio channels never work, the films keep breaking up, if you like some ice with your drink, they'll come and bring it "later". Translation = never.
Anyway... we made it... and in New York again!! yipie!
