You know what? I think he is absolutely right to walk away. More "famous" people should do it when asked about private stuff. Maybe then, the "serious" news programmes could go back to serious issues.

I just watched the BAFTAs on BBC. The television ones... You can find the results here. And the best and worst dressed on the red carpet here. But what awesome music they used! I heard The Kaiser Chiefs, The Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party... oh... and Take That at the very end.

The apprentice

For the people watching the BBC version, here's another behind-the-scenes tip-off. Whenever someone gets fired, they have to walk to a cab that's waiting for them outside. If you watch closely, you will see that they are always wearing the same long dark coat that pretty much hides all their own clothes. Reason is that this is all taped in advance during the first days of the production. Everybody has to do the "walk-of-shame" to the (same) cab. And since there is no way of knowing what you will be wearing on the actual day that you get fired, everyone has to wear the dark coat.

I remember doing this while we were living in the Antwerp loft. The taping of the "getting into the taxi" had to be done when it was dark outside, because a boardroom would (on tv) always be made to look like it ended late in the evening. (Trust me, this was not always the case; the final boardroom e.g. was at 7am on a Sunday morning). So on the second night of the production, we were all ushered to the office in Antwerp to do the shooting. We were there until the middle of the night.
Luckily for me, they never had to air my "walk-of-shame" :-).

With Heroes just starting on Belgian TV, time to put another babe in the picture: Milo Ventimiglia. Known from Gilmore girls, American dreams and his role in Rocky Balboa. And very, very hot...

 

Michael Scofield

Nu zondag start Kanaal 2 met de Amerikaanse serie Prison Break. Ik woon niet meer in Belgie en toch ben ik zelfs omvergeblazen door de mediacampagne van het nieuwe programma. Zelden zo'n marketing hype gezien voor een nieuwe serie. Met een Belgische anthem voor de reeks en al...

Ik heb het volledige eerste seizoen al gezien (Fox)en was aangenaam verrast. Het is een erg sterke serie (met slechts een of twee episodes die iets minder zijn), alles zit goed in elkaar en je kijkt echt uit naar de volgende aflevering. En bovendien zijn de hoofdrolspelers bijzonder jammie. Eerste bewijs: Wentworth Miller! Hij speelt Michael Scofield in de reeks en ik verzeker je, die ogen... amai... Al vraag ik me af hoe hij vroeger door zijn moeder geroepen werd om te komen eten? Wentworthje??

Anyway, zeker kijken. 't Is de moeite.

Mankepoot

Vanavond ga ik zorgen voor televisie want ik ben weer verslaafd aan het geraken aan de PlayStation en da's niet zo gezond. Mmmm en televisie wel... !?!

Ik heb (voorlopig) geen nood aan 359 TV-stations en 5 vind ik net iets te weinig, dus heb ik gekozen voor Digital Terrestrial TV. Gewoon een Digital set-top box kopen en voila: 40 kanalen. Allez, ik hoop dat het straks zo gemakkelijk zal werken! Freeview noemen ze dat hier. Naast Alle BBC kanalen en enkele commerciele zenders, zit er ook nog wat film, muziek en nieuws in het pakket. Perfect dus.

En ik heb al gezien dat morgen I, Claudius begint op BBC Four. Een van de beste BBC series die ik in mijn jonge jaren gezien heb, en dat nog wel tijdens de les latijn. Ik moet wel zeggen dat de volledige stamboom van Augustus net iets makkelijker van buiten te leren is als je er soap-gewijs gezichten kan opplakken. Zeker als je examenvragen in de trant van "in welke mate is Nero bloedverwant met Agrippina de Tweede" krijgt.

Als je de serie nog nooit gezien hebt, dan is het zeker een aanrader. Al denk ik niet dat hij al verkrijgbaar is op DVD of zo. Derek Jacobi is echt fantastisch als de manke keizer.

Ja ik weet het... Claudia betekent de manke, de gehavende...
